Close to 1,500 policymakers, business leaders and academics from 21 APEC member economies will gather to deliberate and advance a policy agenda for the region's most pressing issues in the digital era, including multilateralism, trade and investment, human capital development and sustainability.
Malaysia holds the Chairmanship of APEC for 2020. Under the overarching theme of "Optimising Human Potential Towards a Future of Shared Prosperity", Malaysia has outlined three priorities for its Chairmanship, namely (a) Improving the Narrative of Trade and Investment; (b) Inclusive Economic Participation through Digital Economy and Technology; and (c) Driving Innovative Sustainability.
"Shared Prosperity" is the key message that will be embraced in all the priority areas and initiatives carried out in 2020.
