Dear APACMed Members,
Digital twins are a virtual replica of physical objects that help businesses improve efficiency and reduce costs through simulated testing. While this method of testing has been in use for several decades, the rapid rise and adoption of IoT has led to it being considered as a tool for the future across several different industries, including healthcare.

Digitising R&D of medical devices has many benefits, including but not limited to the optimising of material design and engineering for improved performance and reliability, reducing the number of necessary benchtop tests to be performed or the number of clinical trials, and accelerating a medical device's regulatory approval process.

Authoritative agencies, such as the FDA, have routinely advised medical device manufacturers to adopt similar simulation models to help speed up when their new products and therapies can be brought to market.

This webinar will discuss and share global successful use cases covering different diagnostic equipment, highlighting how digital twins can be employed to achieve innovative and better performing products, as well as the need for a more robust product development process to be developed.
